Time to make the donuts...
RATES:

We prefer to record your project for a flat-fee but we can do hourly if you'd like. The flat-fee works nicely because the music is given the proper amount of time to breathe and take shape without watching the clock.

Hourly: $30
Day ($50 non-refundable deposit required): $300 (10am-10pm)
EP (Up to 6 songs): $750 (tracked/mixed with a 35 hr. cap)
LP (Up to 13 songs): $1,200 (tracked/mixed with a 55 hr. cap)

Payment is due a the end of the session for hourly rates and day rates.

For flat rate packages 50% is due at the beginning of the first session and the remaining 50% is due once tracking for the project has finished.

BOOKING POLICY:

You need to determine what rate you are working from. If you decide to work hourly then we're hourly all the way through that session. If you book a day then you must pay for the entire day, unless you decide to pay hourly for the hours we've used. If you cut day bookings short more than once PSR will not let you book full days anymore. If you choose to work by hourly/day rates then you can't change to a flat rate once we've started. If you need to cancel please do so 24 hours in advance. When canceling a day booking, please do so at least 48 hours before, otherwise your deposit will be forfeited.

We're not ogres.

We just need to make sure things are laid out before we start the beautiful process of making music.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q: "Why so inexpensive?"

A: The reason is that we want people to be able to record here. We want to work with creative artists. We don't want them to be hindered by a huge price tag.

Q: "When can I record?"

A: Our hours of operation vary depending on the needs of the client. We're able to meet you at 6am if you want to start that early or we can pull an all-nighter until 4am. We're pretty flexible.

Q: "What should I do to prepare for recording?"

A: Practice, practice, and practice. Have yourself and your fellow musicians prepped so that we’re spending our time finding cool sounds as opposed to having them learn a song for 2 hours. (It’ll frustrate you more than us!) Have your guitar/bass/keyboard/violin/etc. setup before the session so that everything is 100% functional (Collins Luthiery for guitar/bass…Dave is only a minute away from the studio). Replace old strings and drum heads. Get some good sleep the night before so you don’t lose stamina. Show up on time so that we have as much time as we’ve planned on. Make a list of all your songs that you’re going to record and what instruments need to appear on what songs. Figure out whether or not you’ll be playing to a click-track/metronome or if you’ll be au natural.

Q: "Can I track overdubs at your studio for a project I stared elsewhere?" or "Can you mix my record I made at home?"

A: The answer to both is "Yes!" The easiest way to do this is to bring 24 bit/48 khz *.wav files and we can import them. If you’re taking the overdubs back to the other studio then you can just bring in a stereo 24 bit/48 khz mix of the songs to track over. If we’re mixing them then you’d want to have a *.wav file for each individual track in the song. If you’re working in Pro Tools you can save a session to work with TDM 5.1 for a Mac.

Q: "What if I decide to move out of town in the middle of the project…can I have my money back?" (True story.)

A: By paying for PSR’s services you’ve entered into an agreement that PSR fully intends to follow through on. If you choose to walk out on our agreement it is fully up to PSR to determine how much, if any, of your money will be refunded. When it comes down to it, our rates are ridiculously low and we do have operating costs. Any time PSR spends working with you is in fact time PSR spent and PSR is still owed compensation for that time. As long as you’ve paid in full PSR WILL supply you with data discs of your sessions so that you can work on them elsewhere. If you haven’t paid in full then PSR will determine how much of the remaining balance would need to be paid in order for you to receive your sessions on discs.
